Mike King photos from 2005 (London)
We were lucky enough to have professional photographer Mike King at our ride. He has offered to make prints of any photos below for £11 per 10" x 8" print (this includes post).
BIO
Mike King is a photographer with an outstanding record and top reputation as a sport and portrait photographer. He has captured many of the great moments of sport in a career spanning over 20 years. With a string of awards to his name, the most recent being Sport England Sports Photographer of the Year 2000, Sport England Sports Picture of Year 2001 and the Guild of Picture Editors Sports Photographer of the Year 2002. He has now added wedding and social photography to his repertoire, using the skills developed in his newspaper background, where speed of reaction and working efficiently are the order of the day.
Having started out at a sports agency, he was soon spotted by The Observer, later going to The Sunday Telegraph and now working for a wide variety of people including The Daily Telegraph, Runners World, and Adidas. Although he is recognised for his sports photography, he is becoming equally known for his portraiture, where he has photographed people such as Venus Williams, Tiger Woods, Damon Hill, Michael Owen and Rio Ferdinand . He has covered 6 Olympics, 2 World Cups and virtually every other sport going including lawnmower racing and the Bird Man of Bognor event! Although Mike still enjoys sports photography, he is more likely to be found at smaller events or photographing sports features. He is covering the Antartic marathon in January 2006 and the North Pole marathon in April 2006. These are generally more fun to cover nowadays than "pro" sport.
